Full 7 Round Mock Draft

In 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles started off 10-1 and had plans to run it back on the big stage at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Then an unprecedented historic collapse came about where the Eagles finished the season on a 1-6 skid, the skid ended by getting humiliated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers down in Tampa.

Rolling into this offseason, the Eagles cleaned house with both offensive and defensive coordinators being relieved of their duties. Eagles have a lot of work to do in free agency and the draft, but we will only be focusing on the NFL draft today.

Round 1 Pick 22: Edgerrin Cooper LB Texas A&M

Edgerrin Cooper is my 2nd ranked linebacker coming out of the draft, only behind Dallas Turner of Alabama. Edgerrin Cooper had a 90.8 PFF ranking his final year at A&M, which is one of the top grades for his position. He recorded 39 solo tackles, 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. As you can probably tell he can play on the ball and off the ball which is a priority for the Eagles. Edgerrin Cooper fills a big hole the Eagles are looking to fill.

Round 2 Pick 50: Tyler Nubin S Minnesota

Tyler Nubin is my 2nd ranked safety coming off the board in the 2024 NFL draft only behind Kameren Kitchens out of Miami. In his final year at Minnesota he had 34 tackles, 5 interceptions, 4 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He fills a safety need that the Eagles most definitely are looking to add after the release of Kevin Byard. Tyler Nubin can also bring a huge need the Eagles are looking for.

Round 2 Pick 53: Xavier Legette WR South Carolina

This could be a pick for now and potentially for the future as DeVonta Smith’s contract is coming up in the next 2 years and with tons of uncertainty this could be the way to go in the draft.  He is ranked my 8th WR in this draft class, but do not discourage you as this class is one the best we have seen in a good amount of time. Xavier Legette for his 6’3 227 pound size ran an unofficial 4.29 at his pro day which is extremely good for his size. He had 71 catches for 1,255 yards and 7 touchdowns. He can be a pick for right now and potentially the future if DeVonta Smith chooses to take his talents somewhere else.

Round 3 Pick 97: Jeremiah Trotter Jr LB Clemson

The son of Eagles legend Jeremiah Trotter, his son Jeremiah Trotter Jr does not fall far from the tree in terms of skill set. He had 54 solo tackles, 5.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions along with a touchdown. He is overall a great linebacker on and off the ball as he can play coverage and drop onto the line. This would be a fan favorite pick if made by Howie Roseman.

Round 5 Pick 160: Jaylin Simpson CB Auburn

With a bunch of unknowns going into the offseason about the cornerback position, Jaylin Simpson could be a good depth pick where he could prove himself into the starting lineup if he plays well in OTA’s and Training Camp. The 6’1 Senior had 29 tackles with 4 interceptions, along with 3 pass deflections. A sneaky good prospect who could work his way up the charts if he plays well.

Round 5 Pick 170: Tykee Smith S Georgia

Howie loves his SEC guys, as most of the guys on the team come from all over the SEC so drafting more SEC guys would make total sense. Tykee Smith, along with Jaylin Simpson could be great depth for the Eagles. The Philadelphia native could be a great pick for the Eagles as they need as much defense as possible. He is a bit undersized but still has great potential as he logged 4 interceptions his final season.

Round 5 Pick 171: Jaheim Bell TE Florida State

With back to back picks in the 5th round I could easily see this pick or pick 170 being traded, but if they do proceed with this pick Jaheim Bell can be a great fit for the Eagles. As Dallas Goedert is getting older, getting good TE depth could definitely help the Eagles. The junior plans to skip his senior season to enter the 2024 NFL Draft and he could definitely find himself playing his first year in Philly. As he had over 500 total yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns, he could be a good pick down the line if he plays well.

Round 7 Pick 231: Kingsley Eguakun OL Florida

With the possible retirement of Jason Kelce, there could be a few shifts in the offensive line calling for some depth at the position. Kingsley Eguakun could fit nicely in the Eagles depth chart. Would not expect him to see much time his first year in the league.

Round 7 Pick 242: Jaylen Harrell EDGE Michigan

If Jaylen Harrell could somehow find his way to slip down all the way to the end of the 7th round this would be an A+ pick for the Eagles. The Tampa native had 6.5 sacks for the Wolverines his final year. He could find his way rotating snaps with Josh Sweat on the defensive line.

Trades: Howie Roseman is a wizard when it comes to trading picks. I do not think anything else will change. He will bolster his pick collection coming up in this draft. These are trades I see Howie Roseman potentially making during the draft.
