Last season The Philadelphia Phillies with 95 wins and 67 losses, leading to them gaining the National League title. . Their winning streak raised excitement for the fans, with a possibility for the Philadelphia team to go to the World Series. The Phillies then went on to play in the NLDS (National League Division Series) with the New York Mets. They won the game confidently, but unfortunately lost the series. Which then led to the opportunity of the World Series coming to an end, leaving Phillies fans distraught. 

. Rob Thomson, the Philadelphia Phillies coach, has decided on providing JT Realmuto (the Phillies catcher) with more rest days. With this being said this strikes Phillies fans with wonder on who will take the back up position. Garett Stubbs’ position is in the air after signing a split contract. If Stubbs does not make the lineup for opening day then he would continue his contract with the minors, causing Rafael Marchan to step in.

After Interviewing a Phillies Fan, He stated “ I believe that JT doesn’t need more rest days, as this will help his endurance, But I can see why Rob has his concerns considering he is getting older.. When it comes to Stubbs he is a good back up catcher but I believe that Rafael Marchan has more to offer and we should give him a chance”. 

Speaking of putting in the work, Kyle Schwarber has been determined to lose weight to enhance his running speed, hoping to higher his base average. Fans noticed last season, That Schwarber was slimming down, and improvement in hsi speed was noticed. 

The bullpen is still going strong with Zach Wheeler who almost threw a perfect game last season. After his consistent pitching and doing it well, he earned the privilege to be a starter pitcher. Our newest addition Andrew Painter who is a 6 ‘1 right handed pitcher will only strengthen The Philadelphia Phillies pitching game as a reliever. 

With the devastating loss in the game that would have taken us to the World Series, the Philadelphia Phillies took it to heart and are using it as their motivation to improve. Another Phillis fan states “ I am looking forward to the season starting, especially since we have a lot of potential and as we have seen before we know we can make it to the World Series. The energy that you feel when watching the game whether it be at the stadium or even in the living room watching it on TV is unmatched.”

Philadelphia fans are eager to see what this season entails. From the perspectives that we gained from the interviews, to the social media posts prove that fans are ready for them to get their revenge. Not only are the fans ready, but the players are working tirelessly to best prepare for the new season. Will the Philadelphia Phillies be able to do it?
