In the summer of 2021, Asad’s Hot Chicken gained popularity and traction, becoming widely considered one of the best hot chicken places in Philadelphia. However, another chicken spot has recently hit the wave of popularity. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has exploded on social media platforms such as TikTok, gaining a large following and becoming the no. 3 largest chicken chains in the United States.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is a Louisiana-based fast-food chain originally founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, LA, by Todd Graves, being especially popular for its chicken-finger meals, simple menu, and signature “Cane’s Sauce.” The brand emphasizes fresh quality and a “one love” focus on chicken-based meals.
On Thursday, March 5th, my mom and I went to Raising Cane’s and had a decent experience. The menu consisted of chicken-finger combos along with a sandwich option. While not being super extensive, the menu offers quality choices for meal combos.
I had heard a lot about the place from social media and friends, and figured that I would see if it lived up to the hype. The Raising Cane’s location I went to was a twelve-minute drive from campus, located at 2329 Cottman Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19149.
My mom and I got the chicken sandwich option that came with a side of fries for $10.29. The service was definitely really good as well. We ordered and got our food from the counter attendants relatively quickly.
In regards to the food, I can definitely see how the restaurant rose to fame. While Raising Cane’s may be known for its chicken fingers, its sandwich option is also really good. The sandwich by itself may not be anything too special, but couple it with the Cane’s Sauce, and you get quite the delectable experience. I believe the Cane’s Sauce makes a huge difference and is what truly distinguishes Raising Cane’s from other chicken chains.
The presentation of the food was quite simple and straightforward, consisting of a branded cardboard container with the served food. I think this way of presentation makes sense because it adds to the casual and simple aesthetic of Raising Cane’s, along with putting more focus on the food.
The inside of the restaurant itself was also quite atmospheric and clean, consisting of vibrant and bright colors. To me, this made the experience feel more modern, high-energy, and friendly.
Overall, my experience at Raising Cane’s was quite enjoyable, and it is a place that I recommend at least trying outside of campus. I would give it a solid 10/10. The presentation, taste, and quality of the food are top-notch, and the service is quick and efficient. To me, the cultural hype behind Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers holds up and completely delivers.
