You’re running late to class and one of the most dreadful thoughts hit, I haven’t had my morning coffee. You run through a mental list of nearby coffee shops but of course, you’re running low on time. Until… you think about the new addition to Holy Family’s Philadelphia campus, Saxbys.
Read more: Start the Semester Off Right with Saxbys!That’s right! I’m talking about the Saxbys café in the Education and Technology Center (ETC). Located on the bottom floor, nestled in the left-hand corner of the room, you can find HFU’s newly renovated café.
So, what if you don’t want a coffee? At Saxbys, their menu has a variety of different food and drink options. From ordering something off their signature Cold Brew collection, a hand-crafted energy drink, smoothie, tea, or a seasonal sipper, Saxbys has something for everyone!
Doesn’t a double bacon grilled cheese sound phenomenal? How about one that’s buffalo chicken? If you love breakfast or cheese, this is the spot for you! Saxbys serves breakfast all day including items like pastries, breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and air-fried tots. Not to mention, have you seen their selection for grilled cheeses? If you couldn’t tell, my card would suffer if I went to Saxbys on an empty stomach.
You know what’s also great about Saxbys? Their option for mobile ordering. In addition to the bonus of being able to skip the line with their app, Saxbys is running exclusive offers until the end of the month. Pick up a postcard at the front counter of Saxbys and scan the QR code on the back with their app for a deal. Each week, Saxbys has a new offer! Looks like I’ll be using that tomorrow. Seriously.
Now, let’s get to what you’ve been waiting for- a review of Saxbys. And that you shall receive! Side note, this review was not commissioned, I simply wanted to try what Saxbys has to offer!
On Monday, August 28th, I stopped by Saxbys to check out the new café and try something off their menu. I opted for their medium Vanilla Bean Cold Brew with no milk or additional sweeteners. Something simple yet if done well, they would gain a repeat customer. And let me tell you, they certainly did!
The Cold Brew was perfectly balanced with the Vanilla Bean flavoring. The drink wasn’t too sweet, but not too strong either. When I order an iced coffee or something of the sort, I notice that the ice usually dilutes the flavor. But my Saxbys Cold Brew did not disappoint. I was genuinely surprised because the flavor stayed consistent from the time I bought the Cold Brew to the time I finished it (a little over an hour).
And guess what? I’m not the only student who loves Saxbys and their coffee! Students flocked to the grand opening of Saxbys and were intrigued by the new items brought to campus. Let’s see what they have to say:

I must say Saxbys, you’re doing it right on the Holy Family campus. They have not only brought new, enticing drink and food options to the university, but have contributed to building a stronger sense of community. From job opportunities to being a new spot on campus for students to gather, the addition of Saxbys was an undoubtedly wise decision.
Now, if you don’t mind, I have to think of my Saxbys order for tomorrow morning. It seems like another Vanilla Bean Cold Brew is on its way!
