SPECTRUM, an inclusive LGBTQIA+ campus club at Holy Family University, announced their plans for Coming Out Day, held on Wednesday, October 11 from 2 pm – 4 pm in Campus Center Room 115.
According to their Constitution, SPECTRUM’s goal “is to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for members of the extended LGBTQIA+ community.”
Members of SPECTRUM collaborate on ideas and offer both positivity and support to those who need it. The group is open to the whole campus population.
Announced during the SPECTRUM’s September meeting, Coming Out Day is something that co-presidents Kayleen Hutchinson and Leanny Garcia are excited about.
“Coming Out Day is a day for people in the community to celebrate their journey and the process that they have been going through: coming out to your families and our friends,” Hutchinson said. “It’s a time to tell people about it and celebrate how far you’ve come. It’s really a day of acceptance.”
