Mental Health Awareness Month
This upcoming May, Mental Health Awareness Month will be celebrated and recognized by billions. Established in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month raises awareness about mental health issues in hopes of further reducing the stigma surrounding them. Every May, and more and more throughout the year as well, people come together to educate and help those in need of additional mental support. Here, at Holy Family, you are not alone. This May, as we recognize those who are resilient in overcoming the challenge of dealing with mental illness, we must also shed light on the path to support for those navigating their way through college. Mental Health Services at HFU
Holy Family offers a variety of mental health services. Free counseling services are offered to both full and part-time students. Each session is confidential and aims to provide short-term, efficient help to those in need at HFU. If you or someone you know requires additional support as we enter a stressful time with finals and graduation hanging over our heads, please do not hesitate to access the services available. While counseling services are not offered to faculty and staff, training services are offered to educate them on the best ways to help their students who are struggling. If faculty and staff need mental health services, a referral process is available.
